Family Session: Brianne, Kate, and Paul

If I had to sum up this family in one word it would be precious. They are such a fun bunch and we had a fantastic time shooting in Paramount Ranch just a few weeks ago. If you remember awhile ago Ip osted a photo from Brianne's Maternity session that we did in downtown Moorpark a little over a year ago. Well here is the newest addition to the family, Kate (or katezilla).

If you have small ones you know what a challenge it can be to take photos with them. That is one of the reasons I love going to locations like Paramount Ranch or other parks where they can run around on the lawn and have a great time while getting some photos of their unique and fun little personalities.

Here are a few of my personal favorites from the day:

The girls got the right idea

Probably my favorite from the day

A little behind the scenes:

I love watching families grow and I cannot wait to continue to shoot these guys as they get older.

Family Session Teaser

I know I know! 2 teasers in a row (and a third one coming!)

Gotta love busy months :)

This is a teaser from a Funky Family session I did.

Introducing...Katezilla

You might (but that would be impossible) remember Kate from her mama's maternity session.

Keep an eye out for the rest of this adorable family session as well as a wedding AND an engagement post.

Senior Session: Parveen

I'd like to introduce you to Parveen officially. She is a high school senior from the Thousand Oaks area and was a lot of fun to shoot with. Earlier this year Parveen actually had other Senior photos taken by a bigger local studio that does a lot of the seniors in the area. They turned out great and she looked lovely in them! She just wanted to get some images that were more her style and not in the studio setting. Nothings wrong with going to a portrait studio if that is the look you are going for. Just know that there are many more options that might fit your needs/style.

On to Parveen!

Senior Session Teaser: Parveen

What's that? A senior session? But Marianne, I have never seen a senior session from you before!

That is correct! I 100% consider myself a wedding photographer but I also believe it is important to go out and shoot all kinds of stuff. It keeps you fresh and inspired. I have just discovered that Senior Sessions are a blast! I have a little background in teaching highschool aged kids so I already knew that I got along with them (maybe it's because I will always be 16 at heart). It was so much fun to be able to hang out with Parveen, chat about life, and get her some fun photos that she can share with all her friends. Everyone should get to feel like a fashion model once in awhile.

Here is a little teaser form her funky Senior Session in Thousand Oaks.

Daily Life: My "Cheesy"

You may remember my super adorable niece Charlize from some of the baby photos I have posted in the past. Well she is making an appearance again!

The weekend before last I was able to catch a flight to Arizona and spend the weekend babysitting while my brother and sister(in-law) got to have a much deserved vacation in Cancun. I can't say enough how much fun it is to hang out with her! She was insanely good and did very well for it being her first weekend away from mommy and daddy. I am so amazed by how much she had grown since I last saw her. She even knew exactly who I was when I got there (admit it, that's pretty good for a 1 1/2 yr old who hasn't seen you in months)!

Anyways, all that to say I am a very proud Auntie (or Aunt Meme as she calls me).

I was able to grab a few photos in between the running around and playing:

Daily Life: Take a hike!

...which is just what I did the other day. Having just finished editing my latest wedding and feeling cramped in my work space I decided to call up my friend Ryan's wife Runy and ask her if she wanted to hang out, walk around, and maybe shoot some photos. She agreed and off we went!

So here are a few of the photos of the gorgeous Runy that came about on a cold windy day while taking hike in Newbury Park.

By the way, look out for a trash the dress session with Ryan and Runy to come sometime in January...we are going to rock that session out!
